The 9th International Rexx Symposium
for Developers and Users in the
Research
Triangle Park on
11-13 May, 1998. The Symposium provides a focal
point for information about the Rexx family of languages and a venue for
technical interchange among members of the Rexx community.
The technical program will feature presentations by acknowledged experts
in the Rexx community on topics that range from application development
to the implementation of Rexx language processors. Vendors will highlight
new and enhanced product offerings and offer technical assistance. The
program will span the full range of platforms on which Rexx languages are
implemented.
Mike Cowlishaw,
author of Rexx and NetRexx,
plans to attend and speak about NetRexx, the easiest way to program
in the Java environment.

The X3J18 Committee
is meeting in conjunction with the Symposium. This committee is creating
the ANSI Standard for the object-oriented Rexx languages Object
Rexx and NetRexx.
The committee will meet Friday-Sunday, 8-10 May, at the conference
hotel. Anyone interested in Rexx or the ANSI Standard is welcome to attend.

Travel Information

Raleigh/Durham International (RDU) is
the nearest commercial airport to the Symposium. For General Aviation arrivals,
RDU is a Class C airport with two excellent FBOs offering AirBP and Exxon
mogas, 100LL, and jet-A fuels. Consult the AirNav
database for more information.
The DoubleTree offers complimentary airport shuttle service to RDU from
6:00am to 11:00pm every day. Use the courtesy phone in baggage claim to
call the hotel.
All major car rental
agencies are available at RDU, as are taxi
and shuttle services.
